By now you have probably realized that I love RUNWAYDREAMZ shorts. All of the shorts are so unique and different from other brands but also each pair is one of a kind themselves. With each pair being individually hand dyed, frayed, and torn no two pairs of one style even will look the same.

My favorite ( at least this week )  RUNWAYDREAMZ shorts are the Ombre shorts. I love all things ombre from clothing to handbags to even painting your nails this way and the RUNWAYDREAMZ shorts are no exception. There are many different colors of ombre shorts but my favorite are the blue and white ones. There are two different versions of these shorts : a simple frayed short and an ombre short that is studded.

The RUNWAYDREAMZ Vintage Ombre Frayed Short is a high waisted, high cut short that is ombre dyed. The waist of the shorts is a traditional dark blue denim and the color gradually lightens to a white as it gets to the leg holes. At the leg holes the openings are extremely frayed and throughout the shorts there are rips, tears, and holes. The shorts are very short in length and the pockets peek out at the bottoms of these shorts.

RUNWAYDREAMZ Vintage Ombre Frayed Short

The RUNWAYDREAMZ Vintage Ombre Studded Short are similar to the above shorts but at the same time are very different. Like the other shorts these too are high cut and high waisted. These shorts though are dark at the bottoms and lighten up as the go towards the waistband. The Vintage Ombre Studded Short are not as extreme in the fraying at the leg holes though they too have rips, tears, and holes. The left pocket of these shorts has punk studs on them giving them some glamour.

You can not make the wrong choice with either of these shorts. It really comes down to a personal preference as to whether or not you want extreme fraying or less fraying but punk studs. Both of these shorts will look great with a simple shirt and sandals or other casual shoes.

Earlier this spring I fell in love with the J Brand Low Rise Cut Off Shorts but now I have found some more great cut off shorts to lust after.

RUNWAYDREAMZ Vintage Dyed Studded Short

Lace is a big trend for spring and summer 2011 and most of these great lace pieces are seen as tops but my favorite lace clothing that I have seen so far are the Club Monaco Diaz Lace Shorts. A lot of lace clothing is very conservative and modest but the length, cut, and appearance of the shorts are perfect if you are a trendsetter who takes risks. These shorts have a very unique lace pattern that is not super delicate so there is no fear that they will not hold up with normal wear. The waist of the shorts are banded waist and are full lines so you do not have to worry about exposing yourself at all.

There are so many ways you can pair these shorts and will be able to create  different looks with the shorts. You can keep your look soft and feminine by wearing the shorts with a simple pastel shirt and wedges or heels. Shorts are the perfect choice to wear on a hot day when it is too hot for pants and you do not want to wear a skirt.  To be specific, a walking short is the best choice when it comes to shorts because they are long enough to not expose too much of the leg. Walking shorts tend to be not as casual as other shorter shorts so they can be worn for so many occasions, day or night.

One of the biggest trends for this year is wide leg pants and this look can be seen on shorts as well. The Vena Cava Weimer Culottes Shorts are nude color silk-chiffon ultra wide shorts with metal bead charms at he waist. These shorts are more formal that most, so they perfect to wear at night.

No matter the occasion, there is a great knee length walking short available. These shorts are perfect for spring and summer 2011.

Tribal print is the use of aboriginal and native prints and patterns on clothing either as a highlight or the main pattern. Most of these prints are vibrant and warm tones and occasionally are an animal pattern.  This season many of these tribal prints are in bright, bold colors  and patterns, though there are some in more neutral palettes. The easiest way to show off this trend is with accessories since there are so many necklaces, rings, bracelets, and earrings but that does not mean that there are not plenty of dresses and shirts in these great patterns as well.

Tribal prints are a trend that never really ever disappears from the fashion scene. There are times that it is in the forefront more than other seasons. Spring and summer 2011 is a time that it is quite easy to find top designers who used this look in their clothing campaigns.

The Boulee Tribal Juanita Dress is a light and airy baby doll dress with a ruffle hem and adjustable straps. This dress is overall a neutral palette with tons of turquoise color popping out all over.

Shorts are a great way to add some pattern and color to an outfit. The Stolen Girlfriends Club Anja Tribal Shorts are a high waist tie waistband short that has a great neutral tribal pattern all over. Wear these shorts with a solid shirt and a pair of high wedges.

The spring 2011 campaign for designer Diane von Furstenberg was heavily influenced by the tribal look. On eof my favorite pieces from this collection is the Diane von Furstenberg Oblixe Wrap Dress. This is a v-neck silk sleeveless wrap dress with a mix of patterns and a tassel tie waist.

The MINKPINK Tribal Dance Tunic Tank Top is a vivid tribal print in my favorite colors, pink and purple. This is a long tank top with an asymmetrical hem so you will want to wear this with a pair of jeans unless you want to cover up a pair of shorts.

Twenty8Twelve is a brand owned and designed by the actress Sienna Miller and her sister Savannah. Formed in 2009, this brand is gaining  momentum and is known for their unique styles flawlessly mixed with streetwise femininity. Most people know about Sienna but have not heard much about her sister Savannah. Savannah has a fashion background with experience working with Alexander McQueen and Matthew Williamson.  With Savannah’s fashion knowledge and Sienna’s styles being emulated often these sisters have put together a great line of clothing that appeals to a wide audience.

The Twenty8twelve by s. miller Driben Ottoman Shorts in White are the perfect summer short. I love the black grosgrain ribbon at the waist and the beautiful detailed embroidery across the shorts as well as the scalloped edges at the leg openings. This are a true ladylike feminine short and will be perfect all summer.

It is said that every woman need a Little Black Dress, but I would go as far to say for this spring and summer you need a little neutral dress. The Twenty8twelve Militia Pleated Belted Dress
is a great dress to fit this need. This a fashionable dress and the pleats and belt make it so ladylike.

Print dresses are popular right now and I love the Twenty8twelve Brown/Lobster Printed Double-Layered Tank Dress. The lobster red looks so great with the brown and the pattern is so unique. This is a great dress for day or night and can be worn as is or belted if you prefer.

Blue is one of my favorite colors and I am eying the TWENTY8TWELVE BY S.MILLER – Audrey (Ofili) Skirt. I love the detail of the decorative buttons and the large pockets in the front of the skirt. The shade of blue is great and i I love that it gleams in the light.

If you are frequent reader of this blog you probably have realized that I love stripes. When I saw the Twenty8Twelve ‘Marigold’ Tank Dress I was in love. This is not your typical simple striped dress since it has a bold and vivid color wrap around the base of this dress.

Spring officially starts in just a few days and it is time to put away sweaters and heavy weight pants and pull out shorts and light weight skirts. My present collection of shorts is quite basic, in fact I have a few pairs of denim shorts as well as a few basic color regular shorts but this season there are so many wonderful print shorts to wear.

The key for getting a lot of use out of a print short is to make sure that they are versatile.  Pick a simple black and white short and you can pair them with practically any solid color and possibly other print shirts. You can also try to find a very colorful print short so that you can pick up on one of the colors from the shorts and wear a shirt in that color to tie it together.

The Tory Burch Kevin Shorts are a great basic pattern short because they are not overly crazy with color and the pattern, while quite busy, is not distracting.

Floral prints are everywhere this season and the Sachin + Babi Masha Shorts is a great pair of floral shorts if you, especially if you prefer a pair of short longer in length. These shorts have a beautiful grosgrain along the length of the hips as well as the pockets. I love the bottom of the leg holes where they tie.

Perhaps you are looking for a pair of shorts that are very bold and bright. If that is the case then you should consider the Nanette Lepore Tattletale Shorts.

The pair of shorts that I have my eye on at the moment are the L.A.M.B. Gingham Drawstring Shorts. I love the overall shape and cut of the shorts and really love the contrasting gingham trim.

There are certain colors  that can make any piece of clothing look more sophisticated and dressier just because they are that color. You can have two pairs of the same shorts one black and the other gold and automatically the gold pair are going to be easier to make appropriate for a more formal event. Yes you can wear the gold with a tee shirt and sneakers and look completely casual but at the same time if you replace the shirt with a silk tank top and the sneakers with a pair of heels and you immediately look more polished and an easily walk out the door and into a fancy restaurant.

Alice + Olivia Cady Cuff Metallic Shorts are a perfect example of a short that is appropriate for day or night, casual or dressy.

If a gold dress is what you are looking for then the Shoshanna Tuck Detail Strapless Dress is a dress for you. This dress is feminine and delicate with a gold metallic shimmer but is not too dressy that it can not be worn during the day.

The Bec & Bridge Dune Cropped Metallic Sweater is a sweater but is so thin and sheer that it can be worn in the spring and summer over a tank top.

What is better for spring than a Maxi Dress? A gold Maxi Dress of course. The M Missoni Lurex Wave Long Halter Dress has a beautiful racer back detail making this dress a step above all other Maxi Dresses.

The OndadeMar Solid Ruffle Bikini is the perfect way to show off your tan. This bathing suit is ruffled at the top and the bottom and is at the top of my must have list.

Wide sporty stripes and nautical theme stripes are popular this season but pinstripes seem to never go out of style. Pinstripes are a great addition if you are trying to put together a menswear inspired outfit since they are mostly associated with mens suits to begin with. Pinstripes can be formal or casual and can be seen on dresses, shorts, button down shirts, vests, and more. Most pinstripe clothing is black and white or navy and white but if you look you can find other more adventurous color combinations as well.

Bird by Juicy Couture Indio Stripe Shorts and Bird by Juicy Couture Indio Stripe Bryn Blazer, sold separately can be worn together as one outfit or you can just buy and wear one or the other. The Indio Shorts are pleated at the front hem and have rushing at the side pockets making these shorts feminine. The blazer is fitted and figure skimming and has puffed shoulders slightly reminiscent of the big shoulders from the ’80s.

The Reformation Pin Stripe Bridge Top is a summery and light shirt featuring a racer back and a shirt tail hem. This shirt is semi-sheer as well.

Most of the time pinstripes run vertically but the Pleasure Doing Business Pinstripe Dress in Black/White has stripes that run horizontally in a circle all the way around the dress and around the bust the lines curve.
