Recently Twilight actress Ashley Greene was seen at the Pink For Pilates Benefit along with her adorable Toy Fox Terrier, Marlo. While Marlo grabbed much of the attention, it was a bit hard to not notice the great leather sleeve shirt Ashley was wearing. After a bit of investigating, the shirt was identified as AIKO Kwan Top.

The AIKO Kwan Top is a wool / cashmere blend sweater with a scoop neck and U-shaped topstiching at the neck. The raglan sleeves are made of leather making this sweater stand apart from most others. This is top that can be worn casual with jeans or dressed up if paired with a skirt. This is the perfect fall shirt  and you will get a lot of wear from the Aiko Kwan in either the Grey like Ashley is wearing or the black top as seen on the model.

Peplum shirts are ones that have a flared ruffle attached to the waist of the shirt and are a good way to make an ordinarily basic shirt more stylish.

The Alice + Olivia Ella Striped Peplum Tee is a silk black and white striped tee shirt with peplum waist. The peplum waist on its own creates a definition at the waist but this shirt takes it a step further by adding a yellow belt as part of the shirt which really draws attention to your waistline. The color also makes this shirt stand out even more than it would have on its own and starts you off in the right direction for a color blocking look. Unfinished edges at the cap sleeves make this shirt look less formal. You can wear this shirt with shorts or a somewhat fitted skirt.

Lacoste has been the signature preppy brand for almost a century and little has changed in terms of their look but a collaboration with Catherine Malandrino bring new excitement to this classic brand.

Lacoste which has always kept it designing to in house, has collaborated with an out of house designer for the first time. The lucky designer is French Designer Catherine Malandrino who is mostly known for her ulta feminine dresses with a bit of an edge to them. This results of this collaboration can best be described as being feminine sporty. Catherine says she was excited to expand into the world of activewear and was very careful to not take away from what Lacoste has stood for this past almost century. Hopefully this collaboration will inspire to reach out to other designers and see how they can interpret this iconic brand.

The LACOSTE + MALANDRINO The Cool Shirt is a great shirt that does not take away from the signature Lacoste style or comfort but adds some new cuts and design elements to it. This long sleeve shirt has a foldover collar which is a signature look for almost all Lacoste shirts. The pique cotton material is not as common with Lacoste shirts but it is not a shocking material to be used either. What makes this shirt different from a standard Lacoste shirt though is the 9 buttons closure, 3/4 length dolman sleeves, and new logo. This shirt is available in white and Aloe Green, both of which are great choices.

LACOSTE + MALANDRINO The Cool Shirt

You can wear this shirt with the shirt above ( or similar one ) to show off an all over preppy look or you can pair it with  pants, jeans, or shorts if you want a less preppy look.

I have professed my love for Stella McCartney and her gorgeous floral and fruit prints that grace so much of her Spring /  Summer 2011 clothing line. I truly can not get enough of all of these gorgeous prints on all of her clothing. My favorite floral prints are on all of her tops.  The shirts can be worn with so much and the dresses are all so perfect for the spring and summer weather.

The Silk Dress with Floral Print is a beautifully illustrated dress with flowers all over the front and back. I love that the pattern carries onto the sleeves and neck of the dress. The cropped sleeves make this dress perfect for nights that have a bit a breeze yet are not too hot for those Indian Summer nights.

The sleeveless Floral Print Top is a great shirt with ruched shoulders.The print on this shirt is bright large tulip flowers at various stages of bloom. The background scenery carries to the back of the shirt.

Similar to the silk dress, the Silk Top With Floral Print has the same overall pattern but is a shirt, not a dress. The shirt has ruffle trim detail on the sleeves and a cream trim detail at the neckline. Unlike the dress though, the back of the shirt does not have the flower pattern carry over.

The Stella McCartney Floral Print Tank Top is a basic white tank top with a vivid tulip floral print on the front. The colors are so bright and cheerful and it is easy to wear with so many colors. This shirt would look great with a paid of denim jeans or shorts.

One of the biggest trends for summer is a retro preppy look and it is easy to achieve this look by wearing Lacoste. Lacoste has been around since the 1930s when they created innovative white knit tennis shirts with a crocodile logo embroidered at the chest. In the 50s the brand expanded to add colored polo shirts, hoping to capture an audience of other sports genres. The popularity grew immensely with this expansion of colors and in the 1980s. In fact, Lacoste was THE MUST HAVE signature piece to any preppy’s wardrobe. It was also in the 80s when Lacoste branched out from shirts and starting designing shorts, fragrances, sunglasses, tennis shoes, boating shoes, sweaters, and leather goods. While the popularity of Lacoste has waned a bit, it is still the signature brand for the preppy look. Lacoste has also gone back to its tennis routes in the past few years due to top tennis players including Andy Roddick have begun to wear this brand on the court.  Now in 2011 the preppy look and Lacoste are a big trend so find a great shirt, sweater, or dress to wear.

Whenever the brand Lacoste is mentioned the first thing that comes to mind is their signature polo shirt with crocodile logo on the chest. This shirt is available in every color of the rainbow and even multiple shades of a color.The womens shirts are made in a fine cotton stretch and have a slim fit to them and are long in length so you can easily wear these shirts tucked or untucked.

Lacoste has a great line of v neck sweaters, some are a  solid color with a  stripe accent and others have  all over stripes These sweaters are casual preppy sweater that of course has the signature green crocodile on the chest.  The light weight stretchy cotton is slim fit and has long slim sleeves. This is a great sweater to wear with short, jeans, or over a dress. Since the sweaters are light weight and thin, you can throw one in your bag or tie it around your shoulders until needed.

My favorite of all the Lacoste Summer 2011 items are the polo style dresses. Like the shirts, these dresses are a stretch cotton with buttons and a collar. The Lacoste dresses have a long slim skirt with small slits at the sides and are knee length. You can wear them with sandals, ballet flats, or flip flops. The dress comes in two versions, one is a solid color and the other has a contrasting stripe piping along the collar, button plackets, and the arm holes. Both versions are perfect for a casual weekend day or perhaps a day at the office, if permitted.

Lacoste is a brand that has been around for almost a century and should be around for at least 100 more at the rate they are going. Tribal print is the use of aboriginal and native prints and patterns on clothing either as a highlight or the main pattern. Most of these prints are vibrant and warm tones and occasionally are an animal pattern.  This season many of these tribal prints are in bright, bold colors  and patterns, though there are some in more neutral palettes. The easiest way to show off this trend is with accessories since there are so many necklaces, rings, bracelets, and earrings but that does not mean that there are not plenty of dresses and shirts in these great patterns as well.

Tribal prints are a trend that never really ever disappears from the fashion scene. There are times that it is in the forefront more than other seasons. Spring and summer 2011 is a time that it is quite easy to find top designers who used this look in their clothing campaigns.

The Boulee Tribal Juanita Dress is a light and airy baby doll dress with a ruffle hem and adjustable straps. This dress is overall a neutral palette with tons of turquoise color popping out all over.

Shorts are a great way to add some pattern and color to an outfit. The Stolen Girlfriends Club Anja Tribal Shorts are a high waist tie waistband short that has a great neutral tribal pattern all over. Wear these shorts with a solid shirt and a pair of high wedges.

The spring 2011 campaign for designer Diane von Furstenberg was heavily influenced by the tribal look. On eof my favorite pieces from this collection is the Diane von Furstenberg Oblixe Wrap Dress. This is a v-neck silk sleeveless wrap dress with a mix of patterns and a tassel tie waist.

The MINKPINK Tribal Dance Tunic Tank Top is a vivid tribal print in my favorite colors, pink and purple. This is a long tank top with an asymmetrical hem so you will want to wear this with a pair of jeans unless you want to cover up a pair of shorts.

I love the look of the model with the bright green shoes with the dress. It just proves that you do not need to stick with a neutral color palette even with such a busy pattern.

The Alice  +  Olivia Brazil Button Down Blouse is a sheer button down leopard blouse with a large fold down collar and french cuff sleeves. The back of this 6 button blouse has knife pleats. You can keep it casual with a pair of shorts but you can also wear it under a business suit to make your look more fashionable.

The Alice + Olivia Kae Leopard Print Feather Skirt truly embodies the eclectic sophisticated look Alice + Olivia is known  for. This is a multi layer elastic waist skirt with ruching, frayed layers, and is trimmed with feathers. This is not a skirt for the timid.

My favorite leopard print Alice + Olivia piece of clothing is the Leopard Pleat Back Trench Coat. I love a pattern trench coat to begin with and the leopard print is great to pep up any outfit. I love the mix of patterns the model is wearing with the animal print over a floral print.

Ever Since Jennifer Lopez rocked out at the Grammy Awards this year in her gorgeous Emilio Pucci dress everyone has been copy her fashion styles. Its obvious that Jennifer at 40 looked better than most starlets in their 20s. She loves sequins and she adores Haute Hippie.

We decided to review one  Jenny from the Block’s favorite fashion line. Haute Hippie. Haute Hippie was first launched in 2008 by designer Trish Wescoat Pound. Trish was well known in the fashion world from her stint with Theory and Michael Kors. She is know for he glamorous but simple designs that are reasonably priced for all budgets.

Haute Hippie Sequins Wrap Skirt. This skirt is gorgeous and so stylish for 2011. Sequins is in again and for good reason because it is glitzy and glamorous.

On top Jennifer is wearing Haute Hippie Silk Cowl Blouse. This blouse is in a nice neutral tone that goes well with the sequins dress giving it a nice polished look.

Jennifer Lopez really shows that we all can look fun, youthful and sexy at any age. As a mother of twins and at 40 she looks absolutely gorgeous. With the right clothing and style we all can look as glamorous. By now you should have realized that sporty stripes are everywhere, in fact there are so many stripes shirts, dresses, sweaters, bathing suits, and jackets that you probably do not know where to begin with deciding what striped clothing you want to buy. Most of the striped clothing from other designers is a basic two color stripe, usually a black or navy blue with a white, but the Spring 2011 Marc by Marc Jacobs stripe collection is multi-colored and bright. There are lot of dresses and shirts with yellow, tuquoise, red, and white among other colors on them.

I love the Marc by Marc Jacobs Simone Stripe Dress. It is so bright and cheery and the belt makes this so feminine. This dress also comes in a shorter knee length version if you would prefer.

If you would prefer something with stripes but not as colorful and perhaps with a bit of a nautical feel to it then the
Marc by Marc Jacobs Schooner Stripe Jersey Dresswill fit the bill. A dark navy with contrasting red stripes at the shoulders and hem and white stripes in the middle. This is a jersey dress so it will be comfortable in the spring as well as in the summer when it is much hotter out. If you like the color scheme of this dress make sure to check out the

While not as bright and colorful as the previous stripe dresses, the Marc by Marc Jacobs Clemence Sweater is quite fashionable. I love the two pockets at the hem as well as the three buttons at each side of the neck.

Upon first glance the Marc by Marc Jacobs Beatrix Stripe Sweater looks like an ordinary grey and yellow stripe sweater but there are contrasting stripes at the sides and under the arms.

My favorite of all the Marc by Marc Jacobs stripe clothing is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Beatrix Stripe Sweater Dress. This is a dress right off the fashion runways and is so dramatic. I love that the stripes are only on th the front and the back is solid and I really love the hem pockets.

Wide sporty stripes and nautical theme stripes are popular this season but pinstripes seem to never go out of style. Pinstripes are a great addition if you are trying to put together a menswear inspired outfit since they are mostly associated with mens suits to begin with. Pinstripes can be formal or casual and can be seen on dresses, shorts, button down shirts, vests, and more. Most pinstripe clothing is black and white or navy and white but if you look you can find other more adventurous color combinations as well.

Bird by Juicy Couture Indio Stripe Shorts and Bird by Juicy Couture Indio Stripe Bryn Blazer, sold separately can be worn together as one outfit or you can just buy and wear one or the other. The Indio Shorts are pleated at the front hem and have rushing at the side pockets making these shorts feminine. The blazer is fitted and figure skimming and has puffed shoulders slightly reminiscent of the big shoulders from the ’80s.

The Reformation Pin Stripe Bridge Top is a summery and light shirt featuring a racer back and a shirt tail hem. This shirt is semi-sheer as well.

Most of the time pinstripes run vertically but the Pleasure Doing Business Pinstripe Dress in Black/White has stripes that run horizontally in a circle all the way around the dress and around the bust the lines curve.

Coming Soon by Yohji Yamamoto Pinstripe Vest With Satin Back is a great vest to wear over a tank top or tee shirt for a casual look or a button down look for a look appropriate for the office.

Not all pinstripes are dark, the Paul & Joe Red/White Pinstriped Dress is a feminine red and white shirtdress with puffed sleeves, belt, and pleated skirt.

The Vanessa Bruno Marine Pin Striped Cotton Pants are casual pants with a slim fit that can be worn practically everwhere and for any occassion.
