This season it seems like nail polish has really jumped to the forefront and is just as important an accessory as jewelry or a handbag is. Much thought and time is put into deciding how to paint your nails as is put into picking out what to wear.

Some of my favorite nail trends at the moment are Sally Hanson Salon Effects, Crackle and Shatter Nail Polishes, decorative detailing like Nail Stamping, and using tape or reinforcers to create a pattern on your nails. You can also can not forget about the ever growing in popularity water marbling.

One trend though that I am not really feeling though is stiletto nails. For those who do not know what stilleto nails are, they are long pointy nails that are often decorated outrageously. Celebrities like Lady Gaga, Rhianna, Beyonce, and Fergie all have been seen with these crazy nails.

While this style of nails may work for celebrities it really is not a practical way to keep your nails if you plan on doing much with your hands. It is rather impossible to text or type with such long nails, or really do much for that matter. Maybe for a one time event you may want to have stiletto nails but I am sure you will be cutting them down to a more realistic size and shape rather quickly.
