In the mid 90s, when Spice Girls took over the world, I was but a teenager who liked girl power. It was interesting to read that my favorite Ginger Spice was like 1.60 and all the other girls were pretty short as well. Who could’ve known, when they always had those high shoes on? For the first time since the 70s, platforms were coming back in, and all of us girls loved them.

So perhaps that’s why so many women nowadays are mesmerized by Jeffrey Campbell’s Litas: the Spice Girls heritage. These booties are as high as can be, and the wearers claim that they’re really comfy. I myself haven’t tried them, but I can tell that I wouldn’t be able to walk in them. I’m like that. Ten points to the girls who can!

And not only did Jeffrey Campbell make the classic colors and then a palette of other colors – he also picked up some even more outrageous fabrics and prints, like this tapestry style pictured above, or the American flag Litas that are so crazy popular now, with the upcoming 4th of July.

The craziest style yet must be the multi-glitter Litas, all sparkly like a night at the disco. The fashion bloggers seem to love them, so I’d like your input here: do you love or loathe Jeffrey Campbell’s Litas?

Booties are not just for Fall and Winter

Even though the temperatures have risen does not mean that Booties can not be worn now. While the booties that you wore this past winter are not going to be appropriate to wear right now, there are plenty of great warm weather booties that you can, and should be wearing. My favorite summer booties are the  VIKTOR & ROLF Open Toe Platform Booties. These shoes are a wrinkled patent leather shoe that has both an open toe and peek-a-boo open heel allowing your foot to breathe in warm weather. Other features for this shoe are a whipstitched detailing around the entire shoe, black studded pull tabs, and a covered elastic band at the heel. These booties do have a 5″ heel but do not worry too much because the 1.25″ platform makes walking in this shoe a bit easier.

These booties can be worn with practically anything. They will look great with shorts and a top as well as a long maxi dress/skirt, and even can be worn with a more formal dress ( like pictured in the header). You can even wear them with a pair of black pantyhose or bright tights come fall and winter. These truly are a great year round shoe that you will get a lot of use out of as well as tons of complements.
