Madewell is a brand that has been around since 1937. Originally a workwear company based in Massachusetts, Madewell  started out as a denim jean company that made highly durable long lasting jeans of the highest of quality. Eventually they expanded to clothing other than denim. Perfectly fitting tee shirts, chambray shirts that can be worn for a variety of occasions, and timeless leather boots and bags are only a  few of many great items that can be found from Madewell.

One of the unique aspects of Madewell is that each type of clothing has its own label so your jeans will have a different label than your shoes or bag does but the common thread is that all of them are going to be high quality and long lasting. The main label is Madewell which is used for all of their denim like jeans, jackets, and shirts. Buckley labels are used for clothing that has a vintage or menswear vibe to it. Examples of Buckley clothing are vests, blazers, and trousers.  Perfectly fitting tee shirts and tank tops come with the Hi-Line label attached to them. 1937 Accessories is self expanitory but if you are unsure, it is used exclusively for the ultra cool shoes, bags, and jewelry.  Wearmaster is used for heritage inspired outerwear made from the softest of wools or tumbled leather. There are so many different cuts and styles of jeans that can be found but a few of my favorites are the dark wash flat front flare leg Vintage Rocker Jeans, the 5 pocket  Skinny High Riser Jeans with 11″ leg openings, and the Shrunken Chambray Boys Shirt. The Chambray shirt can be worn with so many different looks like jeans, maxi skirts, or pants. The shirt itself is timeless and classic, has worn spots and is in a vintage faded blue color so it will last you more than one season and will look great year after year.

Faux Fur

If you have even watched The Rachel Zoe Project or even pay attention to fashion / gossip magazines you will be aware that fur, in particular faux fur is a favorite of Rachel’s. The Olsen’s were my favourite childhood stars, I couldn’t get enough of their many TV programmes and films – I literally have a collection. I also remember the days when I first started to become aware of what I was wearing, although I couldn’t afford lavish brands, I was still conscious of what looked good. Walking into ASDA one day I realized the sign that said Mary-Kate and Ashley, I was so excited to see that the Olsen’s had bought out a clothing line, ultimately putting every item into my Mum’s shopping trolly. I guess this was the initial spark for the young stars that had soon become an inspiration for many. Well in-fact they still are.

It has come to light today that the Olsen’s have collaborated with the charitable shoe label, Toms. They have helped create a capsule collection for the up and coming season embracing Italian sourced materials such as cashmere and wool. Over the last couple of months the infatuation with Christian Louboutin has spread like wildfire . Every star who is a star would not be caught dead with out their Louboutin’s. The Red Bottom infatuation is based on” the more sexy the better”, paired with  amazing arches and unique designs. His eye for making possibly the perfect heel has catapulted the designer into another stratosphere. Everyone from Kim Kardashian and her entire clan to Nicki Manaj , and Beyonce  have the Louboutin Love.  He didn’t leave the guys out of this cosmic storm , yes he even has Men’s shoes!!! Hi there, this is Daria of Kittenhood, here to talk to you about what seems to be the best pair of shoes for this summer – the Zara neon canvas platform sandals. What makes them so great is that they fit in several trends of the season – color blocking, neon colors and platforms! We’ve seen them on fashionistas around the blogosphere, worn in all sorts of combinations – just look at Fashion is a playground for example!

The fact that they’ve got three colors makes them go with a wide variety of other colors – you could wear them with red, orange or pink, but also with blue, black and white and every other neutral in the book.  Their classic shape makes them perfect for different stylings as well as several possible occasions – wear them with pants or dresses, for your stylish brunch or for a night out.

Here are some cute dresses that go perfectly well with the Zara heels. The simple chiffon yellow dress from Dorothy Perkins can help you transition from day to evening with no effort. The strapless My Label dress can either be worn as is, for day, or with a blazer for a fancier event. And as for the Topshop dress, it can be your bridesmaid dress just as well as it can be your next date’s outfit. Just don’t leave your Zara heels at home!

In the mid 90s, when Spice Girls took over the world, I was but a teenager who liked girl power. It was interesting to read that my favorite Ginger Spice was like 1.60 and all the other girls were pretty short as well. Who could’ve known, when they always had those high shoes on? For the first time since the 70s, platforms were coming back in, and all of us girls loved them.

So perhaps that’s why so many women nowadays are mesmerized by Jeffrey Campbell’s Litas: the Spice Girls heritage. These booties are as high as can be, and the wearers claim that they’re really comfy. I myself haven’t tried them, but I can tell that I wouldn’t be able to walk in them. I’m like that. Ten points to the girls who can!

And not only did Jeffrey Campbell make the classic colors and then a palette of other colors – he also picked up some even more outrageous fabrics and prints, like this tapestry style pictured above, or the American flag Litas that are so crazy popular now, with the upcoming 4th of July.

The craziest style yet must be the multi-glitter Litas, all sparkly like a night at the disco. The fashion bloggers seem to love them, so I’d like your input here: do you love or loathe Jeffrey Campbell’s Litas?

Some of you may consider yourselves to be bag girls, some may be shoe girls, or some of you may be overly excited about all aspects of fashion – for me it is the latter, however there is nothing like a  Nicholas Kirkwood shoe. I first discovered Kirkwood when my love for Erdem developed, I was always attracted to the brand’s shoe designs, so when I found out they were by Kirkwood, I investigated more. It is only recently that Kirkwood has designed shoes for his own shoe label, but still continues to liaise with high fashion houses.

For Spring 2011 Loeffler Randall and SUNO collaborated for a small 4 piece shoe collection. Two of these shoes are flats while the other two are high wedges.

The Loeffler Randall + SUNO Audra Flat Sandals are a great vibrant pair of shoes that are available in two different color combinations. The first are a navy and white combination and the others are yellow, white and lavender. The pattern on the navy Audra flats is a mix of large polka dots with narrow stripes. Some of the stripes go through the dots creating a very unique look to the shoes. The white, yellow, lavender shoes have subtle stripes on the ankle areas and the foot area of the sandals has a yellow with lavender accent pattern. Both combinations feature snapped straps at the upper and ankle and covered wedge heel.

That is the question im asking you wonderful readers?? for years i have argued with myself that i can justify my ugg boots because they are semi boots but i saw a girl at the beach today rocking the coolest sass and bide jeans and the  oldest ugg boots that crossed the line from trendy grunge to seriously its time for some new shoes..I know for some of you its summer time so thinking about boots is so not on your agenda but for us Aussie chicks that are at winters door it’s a question we must ask and one i am seriously struggling with .

I saw a recent picture of  kate moss recently strutting her stuff recently in a pair of Minnetonka an ugg but not an ugg?Maybe this is the way to go and we should giveaway with the traditional ugg boot….

Im torn so   my ugg boots are having a hiatus in my overflowing wardrobe and i should probably clear some space for that new pair of Minnetonka i just ordered…
