Every year MAC teams up with a star for their Viva Glam Campaign. MAC and the star create a limited edition lipstick(s) that 100% of the proceeds go to AIDS/HIV outreach programs. The campaign has been around since 1994 when the first Glam was Ru Paul and a single red lipstick was created. From then on the Viva Glam spokesmen have been KD Lang, Mary J Blige , Lil’ Kim, Sir Elton John, Shirley Manson, Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Linda Evangelista, Chloe Sevigny, Boy George, Pamela Anderson, Eve , Lisa Marie Presley, Debbie Harry, Dita von Teece , Fergie, Cyndi Lauper, and Lady Gaga. Each collection has a lipstick and occasionally a lipgloss that is bold and makes a statement like like the people that they pick for each campaign.
The 2011 campaign is Viva Glam Gaga and features Lady Gaga for the second year in a row ( last year she partnered with Cyndi Lauper) and has a lipstick and a lipgloss. The makeup will be released on March 17th but can be pre-ordered at many stores that carry MAC.
Both the Viva Glam Gaga Lipgloss and the Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick
are a classic light warm beige that can be worn together or separate. I for one was a bit surprised by the color since I do not associate Lady Gaga with subtle and classic.
