The mascara collection is limited edition so if you are interested in any of these colors you should hurry out and purchase them, they are already selling out quickly. Some say that the Big Bounce collection is permanent anf others say it is a limited edition, I have not been able to get a definitive answer so my suggestion is that if there is a color that you are really interested in, then you should not wait to buy it.

For Spring  2011 MAC Cosmetics has released a line called Quite Cute. The colors for this collection are all pastel colors and they are perfect for this time of year.  While the entire collection is great and all,  I am most drawn to the nail lacquer polishes. There are three great pastel polishes, a pink, a purple, and a mint green. All of these colors are a bright pastel so you do not have to worry that your nails will fade away and not be seen. In addition to being a bright pastel, the formula for these polishes is high gloss so your nails will really shine.

The Quite Cute Collection is a super feminine collection and that is great because one of the most popular Spring / Summer 2011 trends is feminine lady like. This collection puts a spin on traditional demure colors but at the same time is perfect if you want to dress ladylike. A traditional ladylike nail palette would be understated neutral colors with perhaps a slight hint of color but the Quite Cute Polish Collection has more vibrant hues making them updated and modern.

The purple  polish is called Little Girl Type and it is a true pastel lavender color. This is my favorite of all three colors because I love purple in general and am always on the lookout for another great purple. I do not have many pastel purples since most seem to be a not true purple, skewed either with blue or red undertones. This is a must have color for me.

The pink polish, Ice Cream Cake, is a super feminine shade of pink. I normally do not gravitate towards pink polish, unless it is really bright or glitter but I actually do like this color. The reason I like this shade is because it is a creamy blue pink so it has a subtle purple hue to it.

The last of the three Quite Cute polishes is Mischievous Mint and it is a creamy blue mint shade. This is the least traditional of the three colors but at the same time it still fits the ladylike trend very well. Second to purple, blue is my favorite nail color and this mint blue is high on my wishlist as well.

The Quite Cut Collection is not exclusive to nail lacquer. There  is a great four color eyeshadow palette with ladylike feminine colors. The palette includes  frost pale green white gold ( Moshi Moshi! ), satin light white pink ( Goody Goody Gum Drop ) , frost pale lavender with silver ( Boycrazy ), and frost midtone dirty violet ( Azuki Bean ).  There are 5 great lipsticks : 3 pinks, 1 purple, and 1 beige. My favorite part of this collection ,besides the nail lacquer, are the Mineralize Blush. All three of these shades have a two contrasting/complementary tones in one. Denim is as American as apple pie and MAC Cosmetics is taking the love for denim and transforming it from clothing to makuep.  The latest line of makeup from MAC is called Jenius and is made up of  eye shadows inspired by different denim jean finishes as well as blush, lip stick/gloss, and nail polish. The eye shadow and the nail polish are really the ones connected to the look of denim but the blush and lip products are colors that complement and set off the looks of jeans. The Jenius nail polish has a great denim jean shade as well as a unique white shade of polish. The Biker Blue is a high gloss frost nail polish that is a  blue black base with blue and purple pearl sparkles . The Frayed To Order white polish is a matte creme polish with a duo chrome pink effect. The color though does dry matte losing a bit of the duo-chrome but you can put a shiny top coat over this polish to make the duo-chrome more vibrant.

Every year MAC teams up with a star for their Viva Glam Campaign. MAC and the star create a limited edition lipstick(s) that 100% of the proceeds go to AIDS/HIV outreach programs. The campaign has been around since 1994 when the first Glam was Ru Paul and a single red lipstick was created. From then on the Viva Glam spokesmen have been KD Lang, Mary J  Blige , Lil’ Kim, Sir Elton John, Shirley Manson, Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliott, Linda Evangelista, Chloe Sevigny, Boy George, Pamela Anderson, Eve , Lisa Marie Presley, Debbie Harry, Dita von Teece , Fergie, Cyndi Lauper, and Lady Gaga. Each collection has a lipstick and occasionally a lipgloss that is bold and makes a statement like like the people that they pick for each campaign.

The 2011 campaign is Viva Glam Gaga and features Lady Gaga for the second year in a row ( last year she partnered with Cyndi Lauper) and has a lipstick and a lipgloss.  The makeup will be released on March 17th but can be pre-ordered at many stores that carry MAC.

Both the Viva Glam Gaga Lipgloss and the Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick are a classic light warm beige that can be worn together or separate. I for one was a bit surprised by the color since I do not associate Lady Gaga with subtle and classic.
