A full length leg jumpsuit is a must have for Summer 2011. These one piece outfits make getting dressed easy because it is a complete outfit. This is a good choice when you want full coverage but do not want to wear a dress. They are especially great for a windy day because you do not have to worry about the wind blowing up your skirt exposing yourself for all to see. There are so many choices for these one piece outfits. You can find very casual ones  as well as jumpsuits  appropriate for a formal occasion. Many of these one piece outfits are draped and embellished so as they appear as a dress instead of pants.

The 1970s is when jumpsuits were at their height of popularity so it is no surprise that in 2011 when the 70s look has made  a comeback that the jumpsuit would be a part of that revival. There is some ruching at the sides to give it some dimension. Since this is solid black you will want to brighten it up with your shoes, jewelry, or a belt.

The Thakoon Button Front Long Jumpsuit is a more formal jumpsuit that can be worn at night when you dress up. This silk blush one piece jumpsuit features a jacquard floral pattern and a V neck. A belt at the pleated waist and pintucking make this a figure flattering outfit. The legs are wide so you will want to wear a shoe that has height to it.

Jumpsuits are not just for the weekend, there are plenty of them appropriate for the office. The Diane von Furstenberg is one of these work appropriate suits. The Masanori is a long sleeve capri pant jumpsuit that has a vivid all over pattern that is not distracting. Wear this with a pair of neutral wedge sandals or heels and your outfit is complete.

If you want to wear a fashion forward non traditional jumpsuit, the Elise Overland Leather Capri Jumpsuit is a great choice. This jumpsuit has a deep v neck plunge to the naval and is very form fitting. While this is a solid black, you do not want to add too much color with your accessories because the jumpsuit is so detailed and you would take away from it by adding too much.

A jumpsuit is a bit intimidating if you are not accustomed to wearing one but once you get used to the idea of wearing a one piece I guarantee you will come looking for another one. Also remember that there are plenty of short style rompers that will give you a similar look but may be more comfortable to wear in hotter weather.

Clogs have been around for centuries and were originally created for workers to protect their feet at the farm or the factory. Over time though clogs have become fashionable and mainstream. Top designers like Chanel and Louis Vuitton have put models in these shoes to prance down the runways in Paris, Milan, and New York. As the shoes have become more fashion than function the look of clogs has changed drastically but the common ground for all clogs is that they are comfortable, slip on shoes though currently designers have stretched this definition a bit and created clog sandals that has a strap that needs to be buckled. Most of these new clogs have wood heels and stapled or riveted uppers which are common to a clog.

The neutral color leather uppers make these sandals a great shoe for summer and will match almost everything. Though the Brooke Sandals have an ankle strap, they have rivets along the sidewalls like a traditional clog shoe.

The Ash Vicky Crisscross Clog Sandal is another great wooden shoe with studded sidewalls. This shoe is more of a sandal than a clog and a great all around shoe. I love the crisscross straps and double buckle closure. This clog sandal is available in black and in natural.

The Giuseppe Zanotti High Platform Clog Sandals is a 5.5″ high sandal with 2.5″ platform. Like a classic clog the base is a solid wood and the uppers are attached with studs. These are the perfect shoe to wear with a maxi dress.

The Diane von Furstenberg Flynn Clog Sandal resembles a clog the least of all the shoes mentioned. It is a great sandal with sidewall studs like a clog and does have a wooden heel but the overall style and shape of the sandal does not resemble a clog. The Flynn is rather easy to slip on and off since it has an elastic sling back strap.

All of these  great clog sandals are perfect for summer outfits especially if you are going for a retro 70s look.

Back in the 1980s one of the biggest trends in terms of shoes was slip on  loafers and flats. In 2011 a new type of flats has emerged, flat espadrilles. Espadrilles by definition are a shoe that have canvas or cotton uppers and the sole of the shoe is flexible,  made of rope or rubber that is formed to look like rope. Most modern day espadrille shoes tend to be a  wedge heel sandal  but this  spring and summer espadrille flats have become extremely popular.

Diane von Furstenberg is known for her great prints and patterns.She has come out with a collection of flat espadrilles called Cadence Flats. The come in many different colors, prints,  and patterns that DVF is known for. I love that each Cadence Flat Espadrilles has its own unique color pattern combination. My favorite color/pattern combinations are the two  black and white shoes. The Cadence splatter paint espadrilles  are casual and fun while the chain pattern shoes are more refined looking.

The Pedro Garcia Ibiza Espadrilles are a satin ballet flat that is quite feminine and soft. These shoes are perfect  to pair with when wearing ruffles or lace. The Ibizas are available  in 3 colors: Umber, Bisque (pictured), and Cadet Blue.

Lacoste is known for two things: their crocodile logo and that their style and clothing embodies the preppy fashion trend. Their Lacoste Marthe Espadrille personifies this look. it is a flat espadrille loafer with the signature crocodile and preppy red hue.

The striped nautical look is another fashion  trend from the 80s that has been modernized and updated.  Kate Spade Lido nautical flat espadrilles are a great example of this These shoes are feminine and are perfect to wear for a casual day. The Kate Spade Lido are available  in three cream color combinations : blue (pictured) , gold, and black. All three colors have a contrasting cognac trim on the shoe.

There is no wrong flat espadrille shoe that you can buy. All of them are a great staple shoe to own this season. You will be comfortable and in fashion wearing these shoes. They are light weight and breathe easy for warm spring and summer days. They look great and there is so many great espadrilles to choose from this season. Tribal print is the use of aboriginal and native prints and patterns on clothing either as a highlight or the main pattern. Most of these prints are vibrant and warm tones and occasionally are an animal pattern.  This season many of these tribal prints are in bright, bold colors  and patterns, though there are some in more neutral palettes. The easiest way to show off this trend is with accessories since there are so many necklaces, rings, bracelets, and earrings but that does not mean that there are not plenty of dresses and shirts in these great patterns as well.

Tribal prints are a trend that never really ever disappears from the fashion scene. There are times that it is in the forefront more than other seasons. Spring and summer 2011 is a time that it is quite easy to find top designers who used this look in their clothing campaigns.

Shorts are a great way to add some pattern and color to an outfit. The Stolen Girlfriends Club Anja Tribal Shorts are a high waist tie waistband short that has a great neutral tribal pattern all over. Wear these shorts with a solid shirt and a pair of high wedges.

The spring 2011 campaign for designer Diane von Furstenberg was heavily influenced by the tribal look. On eof my favorite pieces from this collection is the Diane von Furstenberg Oblixe Wrap Dress. This is a v-neck silk sleeveless wrap dress with a mix of patterns and a tassel tie waist.

The MINKPINK Tribal Dance Tunic Tank Top is a vivid tribal print in my favorite colors, pink and purple. This is a long tank top with an asymmetrical hem so you will want to wear this with a pair of jeans unless you want to cover up a pair of shorts.

While warm weather makes many  want to wear dresses and skirts there are times when you may want to wear pants or even shorts. There are others who prefer a pant over a skirt or dress all the time. The problem though with pants, especially at the height of summer, is that it is so hot that pants can be uncomfortable to wear. The solution for this problem is a cropped  leg pant.

Khaki pants should be a staple in everyone’s closet but many Khakis are big and baggy and not fashionable and stylish.  The Club Monaco Renay Cropped Pants are a simple basic yet stylish  pant that can be worn with almost anything. Though they are called Khaki they are more of a peachy pink beige color.

A wide leg pant is not a simple buy. You need to be careful if you are not tall because a wide leg cropped pant can easily make you look shorter and wider than you are so this style pant is really best for women who are medium to tall stature. If you want to wear a wide leg pant the Diane von Furstenberg Bananarama pants are a great choice. These pants are pleated palazzo pants in a great Anthracite color.

Cargo pants have been around for many seasons now and there is not a lot of change to them from one season to the next so they have become a true staple for the closet. There are a lot of different styles of cropped cargo pants from loose and baggy to slim and fitted and everything in between. There are even a lot of pants that are designed to be worn full length or can be rolled up to make them a cropped pant.

Cropped pants for the most part will work for all shapes and sizes but keep in mind that if you are petite that the wider style cropped pants will make you appear shorter than you really are. Enjoy the summer wearing cropped pants knowing that you are comfortable and in style wearing them.
