Long gone are the days when the editors-in-chief from the big magazines were the ones running the fashion world, along with the eccentric designers and the I-don’t-get-out-of-bed-for-less-than-$10,000 models. Famous brands now have collaborations with famous fashion bloggers. Bloggers launch their own clothing lines. Brands promote themselves by offering freebies to fashion bloggers. Girls of all shapes and sizes become models on their own blogs. Bloggers are the ones keeping the trends alive. That’s why, if you want to know what’s in this summer, you should rather check those personal style blogs instead of going through a pile of fashion magazines.

One of the trends that I noticed lately is about nails. I’m not that interested in my own nails, but I love to see them all neat and pretty on other girls. And how are these other girls wearing them this season? Mismatched! Each nail can be another color, if you want to! And they look great! Some bloggers wear them in rainbow colors (see The Chic Muse), while other go for adorable pastels (The Styling Dutchman, Swedish Love Affair, Joll Burr).

This type of nailwear is very season appropriate and perfect for going on vacation! They somewhat make me think of what a little girl would like to wear. They’re playful and just a tiny bit tacky, enough to make them interesting to wear. You can go for less colors, like Antonia of Swedish Love Affair, if you don’t want to stand out all that much.
